ABOUT THE PROJECT TEAM
Dr. Bidhan Chandra (Principal Investigator), Professor of International Business and Management, SUNY Empire State College
Dr. Bidhan Chandra is an international educator and intercultural consultant. He is currently a Professor at SUNY Empire State College. Dr. Chandra has also been a Visiting Professor with the School of Management at the University of Buffalo, where he has taught International Business to Chinese executives in the Motorola EMBA and Renmin University EMBA programs in Beijing from 2003 to 2006. He has also taught in UB’s Singapore EMBA program during the years 2006-2008. He is an expert in blended e-learning solutions and has created several asynchronous global classrooms bringing together business students and corporate managers from several countries together to form cross-cultural teams and manage team projects in the virtual space.
Dr. Susan Jagendorf-Sobierajski (Co-PI), Executive Director of International Education, SUNY Cobleskill
Dr. Susan Jagendorf-Sobierajski serves as the executive director of international education at SUNY Cobleskill. She oversees international student issues, study abroad programs and foreign language and ESL courses. She also designs international collaborative programs and supports faculty initiatives overseas. She is working with a team to internationalize the curriculum and promote global learning for all.
Dr. Keith Landa (Co-PI), Director of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center, Purchase College
Dr. Keith Landa serves as Director of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center at Purchase College. In his role as TLTC Director, Dr. Landa oversees the implementation and administration of learning applications at SUNY Purchase, and he and his staff provide the faculty development programming needed for the effective use of these tools by faculty.
Dr. Runi Mukherji (Co-PI), Professor of Psychology, The College at Old Westbury
Dr. B. Runi Mukherji is Professor of Psychology at SUNY College at Old Westbury. Her area of professional interest is cross cultural and multicultural issues in psychology. She was Director of General Education and the Chair of the General Education Committee at the College for over ten years. Her professional expertise is research methodology and she has served as the methodological and statistical consultant for a number of projects in health disparities in new immigrant populations at the Center for the Study of Asian American Health, NYU Medical School, since 2003 to the present.
Dr. Patrice Prusko Torcivia (Co-PI), Associate Director of Learning Design, Harvard Graduate School of Education
Dr. Patrice Prusko Torcivia works at Harvard University. She frequently presents at academic and industry conferences about the uses of Cloud Computing in education and her experiences teaching in a blended learning environment in Latin America. Patrice holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from Union College and a Ph.D. from University at Albany in Curriculum and Instruction.
Ms. Rebecca Smolar (Co-PI), Associate Director of Education, National Association of Consumer Advocates
Ms. Rebecca Smolar is currently a Manager of Education at the National Association of Consumer Advocates. For the previous six years she worked at the SUNY Levin Institute, managing the Global Workforce Project and Globalization101.org projects. She also served as the Project Manager for the UCosmic Consortium, a data-based initiative to map global learning across university systems.
Ms. Chi-Hua Tseng, Webmaster
Ms. Chi-Hua Tseng was Instructional Designer at SUNY Empires State College. She taught website and graphic design courses for undergraduate and graduate courses. She holds a BBA in Accounting from Providence University, Taiwan, MA in Business Education from NYU, MA in Graphic Communication Management and Technology from NYU, and MS in General Education from SUNY Albany. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction at SUNY Albany.
